The Scavenger Hunt three week ago was particularly geeky as all the entries were mathematical. It was very interesting to see what people are coming up with. A month ago, I noticed a posting on [couchsurfing.com][6] about a real life Scavenger Hunt hosted by some Argentines called "[Midnight Sore][7]" downtown on Saturday afternoon, Dec 16th. I gathered up a team of friends - S & David and Katie (who stayed with us for a week from couchsurfing.com). We met up at Florida and Lavalle at 3:00 p.m. and got a list (in Spanish) of 95 various things and actions we had to take photographs of and 18 actual items we had to collect. S and I spoke more Spanish than Katie and David, but some of the stuff we had to ask the organizers what they meant because we couldn't figure out what they were - some were slang and others were just words we didn't know.

We spent about four hours running around _Microcenter_ finding things to photograph: buying a condom, one of our team member playing DDR, one of our team members proposing marriage to a random stranger, one of our team kissing a cop on the cheek, a McDonalds employee "eating" a Whopper, the interior of a sex shop, an image of Che Guevara, the number 69, an item for sale for A$550, a team member imitating a living statue, a specific clock at a specific time, strangers making out, etc. It was a lot of fun as we tried to decipher what we needed to do and ran around trying to complete the list. We had about five hours to complete the list, but we petered out around 7:00 p.m. and ended up at a cafe for some much needed coffee. We met up with the rest of the group on the "first floor" of McD's on Florida Street to show the items we collected and show our list of completed photos. I emailed the photos that night, and was waiting to post this entry until the folks from Midnight Sore had [posted the results][8], but they _still_ haven't gotten around to posting it all. I don't know what's taking them so long. I just decided to post this blog post anyways.

We first bought a McD's hamburger and asked female employees of Burger King and they all said no, emphatically. We then bought a Whopper Jr and S and I used our feminine wiles on a poor male employee. We pleaded and begged and batted our eyelashes and we got the picture! I think because we were all from the United States we were able to get away with more, also we were pretty industrious and strategized and tried to be efficient about getting everything. We laughed a lot, which was a lot of the point for me. I did have a bit of a competitive streak in me, but it didn't rear it's head too much. I put the [photos up on flickr][12] - you can have a look if you wish. Some of them are *very* funny.
