It is springtime here in Buenos Aires and some days you can even tell! :D The days have just started to get longer here because we just passed the Spring equinox. Seeing a sunset in BsAs is not a usual occurrence because the sun just goes down into the greater Buenos Aires area and unless you're up high you won't be able to see it. The sunrise you can see over the _Rio de la Plata_ if you get up early enough. We were lucky on Friday to visit the [Palcio Barolo][5] with a lady from [couchsurfing][6] whose cousin worked in the office. We were able to climb up all to way to the tippy top where there is a lighthouse and actually see the sunset at it disappeared into the west. I was so happy about this!   
  
Palacio Barolo is a fascinating building with a rich history. Briefly, it was built in 1919-23 and designed by an Italian architect, Mario Palanti who was inspired by Dante's _Divine Comedy_. The building soars 100 meters tall, with one meter for every canto of the DC. There are 22 floors and they are divided into three sections - the basement and the ground floor belonging to hell, the 1-14 floors remain in purgatory and floors 15-22 represent heaven. Our friend's cousin worked on the 9th floor. I hope her job wasn't too boring. Most of the offices are lawyers offices. Reflect on that a bit why don't you. The marble for the dome was shipped from the Budanishar region of India and the dome itself represents the tantric union between Dante and Beatrice. I wonder what Dante would have thought of that!!!
