I was talking about the recent Australian elections with an aussie friend of mine and he sent me [an interesting link][5]. The Liberal party in Australia is like the Republican party in the United States. It just suffered a fatal blow and the country will be pulling out of the "collation of the willing" in Iraq and will sign the Kyoto agreement. This leaves the US all alone in two very "wrong" things: being a war they shouldn't be and being the remaining industrialized county who hasn't signed the agreement. There was a very interesting quote about what I saw to be the "hangover" in Australia and it reminded me very much of what's going on in the USA. I thought I would share it.
