Ellen cooked a fantastic Thanksgiving dinner for us and [Cherie][5], Rueben, and S (who couldn't make it unfortunately). Kragen and I were Ellen's sous-chefs. It was a wonderfully intimate affair that made me grateful for friends in new places. It was a full spread with turkey, mashed potatoes, yams, asparagus, gravy, cranberry sauce, endive salad and apple pie. Ellen said grace and we spoke Spanish for most of the evening as Rueben doesn't speak much English. It was strange to celebrate Thanksgiving on a warm spring evening and have everything open. When we needed to run out for missed supplies, it was a quick trip to the market down the street. Kragen wants to have Thanksgiving in the fall here as a proper Autumn Harvest festival. I think that's a good idea.  
  
I was very thankful to be with friends, to be in love with my wonderful husband, to be living here in Argentina, to be in contract negotiations for an apartment, and to be able to contact my friends and family via [Skype][6]. The quality of the call to my parents in Vancouver was very poor unfortunately, but the video chat to friends in Indiana was amazing. Yes, the future is now. The calls to my sisters in Los Angeles were clear and I left a message for my brother in the Bay Area, which I still need to follow up on.  
  
Some friends have arrived here in Buenos Aires for a long weekend and it's wonderful to see them. They are quite a force of nature and I wonder where they get their energy. We are seeing the sights, and visiting restaurants and tango shows and having a good time. There is much to be thankful for in our life right now.
