I was saddened to hear this afternoon of the passing of Ora Robbins. She would have been 100 this July. She thought it awfully stupid to die before then, but knew her time was coming to an end as she was fighting an infection and wasn't winning. She is pictured here with her grand-daughter Juliette and her great-grand-daughter, Ora (minor) at our wedding in 2003. She was the mother of my father's best friend, Matthew Robbins, and the closest family figure I had to a grandmother in the United States. She did get to see three great-grandchildren born - two more after Ora minor -Florence and I young boy whose name I don't know (anyone want to let me know that?!?!). I know that Ora major will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a remarkable, classy, feisty and loving woman and I am so blessed to have known her. My heart goes out to the Robbins family at this time and also to people who knew and were touched by her grace.
