Wishing all my friends a very Merry Christmas. I hope you are having a good time with your family, and that they're not driving you nuts. I'm missing mine, but I'm with Kragen, so that's good. It's been a bit difficult to get into the Christmas spirit here in Buenos Aires because it's hot and my birth family is so very far away. On the other hand, it's been so non-stressful because I didn't have to brave the shopping chaos at all and that's just a huge relief. Christmas eve here seems like a much bigger deal here than Christmas day. I went to a party last night with other stranded couchsurfers and had a great time meeting new friends and watching the semi-professional fireworks go off all over the city from Mariano's terrace. What a sight. It was also quite loud. I was lucky and able to catch taxis both ways fairly easily. I was happy about that - they also went by the meter and didn't charge double as I had been warned about. Yay. I did see a bunch of taxis with their meters turned off with passengers so I know that it was happening.  
  
Anyways - I hope you're having a good one whatever you do today. Me - I'm going to wax our bedroom floor, feed a friend's kitty, hopefully have a video chat with my family in Los Angeles and watch fireworks tonight! I leave you with a great [XKCD comic][5].
