Kragen and I attended a "Creativity Lab" in Palermo this week. It was fascinating and got me thinking about myself as a creative person. I have dabbled with creative/artistic endeavors throughout my life, but never really thought of myself that way. This past year I have been taking lots of photographs, and this one is way too dark, but I didn't want to use the flash and blind folks. I have also been writing and whether or not I realize it, I keep on plugging away. So, it's all creative, even if amateurish. In this post's photo, [Malaya][5] is on the left, followed by [Maya][6] and other participants. The cool thing about exploring creativity the way we did it, is that we were all able to see how creativity comes into our lives and how we can be creative beings _without_ being necessarily artistic. Creativity can be found in so many various aspects of our lives. One of the exercises we were led through got me thinking about a [project I did with the Internet Archive][7] (2.5 MB PDF of our grant proposal). The exercises were interesting and it was wonderful to meet new people. I look forward to more sessions, as this seems it might turn into a weekly event, and to getting to know people better.   
  
After this event, Kragen and I had dinner at this fantastic Moroccan restaurant nearby, Bereber. It reminded me of the Moroccan restaurant I used to go to with my family in London. Different vibe, but similarly delicious food. I look a [bunch of photos][8] as they had the coolest decorations. I loved their starlights. I am hoping attend another expat gathering at another nearby restaurant on Friday night, Arabic this time. Tonight, Kragen and I are going to see the movie _The Mission_ at the South American Explorer's Club. It is such a beautiful movie and K's never seen it before. I absolutely love love love love the soundtrack. I need to figure out how to get that on my iPod. I think my folks have the vinyl record of it, but no longer have a record player... :D
