Why is the fact that a flu pandemic "would kill" 62 million people news? Why is this on the front of news.google.com and news.yahoo.com? This is conjecture, this is fear, this is projection. I just don't get it. This is getting people all worked up for something that "might" happen. There probably will be a flu pandemic in the future, but we don't know when, where or anything more. This kind of thing making the news just makes me cranky.  
  
In other "better" news, the redesign of my website is coming along. I'm learning CSS and Kragen is being very patient with me and also reading over my content for mistakes. I checked the code with [the W3 validator][5] and it's all good, except for one directory I need to work on. It's old code... I also need to make sure that we have all the redirects from my old site in place before I upload the new design as files have changed locations, I don't want to break the web. That would make Baby Jesus cry and I don't want to do that.
