My flight to Dayton was later than expected, so I think I'll be able
to get someone to pick me up here.
I sat next to a pretty young blonde blue-eyed woman, a resident of
some island (whose name I can't remember) off the west side of
Florida, who was visiting her dying grandmother in Dayton. She'd
grown up in Dayton, but had left it for Fort Lauderdale (preferring
the climate) some eight years before, and then moved to the island
four months ago. Her parents had left the city some years before, but
her grandmother still lives here --- she used to visit Florida four
months a year, and was hoping to move there last year, but her badly
metastasized cancer now makes her too ill to make the trip.
So now the granddaughter is coming back to visit the grandmother ---
she's stressed out, because it's not a visit she's looking forward to,
but a visit she thinks is important.
Snow is blowing across the ground here in Dayton --- quite a contrast
from sunny San Francisco. I'm glad I brought my long wool coat.
Now I sit and wait for my clothes to come out of the magic conveyor
belt at the baggage claim.
Got lots of email written today. Sent it (and downloaded newly
received mail) by using about 10 cell phone minutes.

Paul picked me up; we arrived at my house (Debbie's house) around
sunset. I'm sleeping here tonight --- they offered me Debbie's son's
bed, but I'm afraid that if I sleep in his bed, I'll leave enough
germs on the sheets that he'll get sick too.
So I'm sleeping on the couch, in the living room. I have a lot of
work to do tomorrow...

Techno addiction. More expensive than crack, keeps you up longer than
coke, makes you fatter than pot, but hey... it's legal.
