rather astonishing political spam

I received this spam yesterday; it's one of the more astonishing pieces
of email I've seen.

I don't suppose it's news to anyone that the US has sponsored foreign
terrorism for decades, or that American policemen sometimes kill
suspects during torture, but this spam seems more designed to produce
panic and distrust of government than activism.  Few facts; just a
Supreme Court case number that doesn't check out (doesn't show up on
findlaw.com or http://www.aclu.org/court/98fullsum.html).

The asserted facts, including the imaginary Supreme Court case, also do
not justify the conclusions presented: that Congress, and therefore the
American public, carries out secret assassinations of anyone, let alone
innocents.  It appears to be a pack of paranoid fantasies and outright
lies.

And so it ends with what I would read as a threat to kill me,
personally, if it weren't obvious that the mail had been sent out to
hundreds or thousands of people:

	When terrorists respond in kind to the murders of
	their children and neighbors, do not ask "why me?"

So I have less confidence than previously that the far right has
settled down politically.

The email was sent from 64.107.0.238, a machine attached to the
Internet via lincon.net, within the ISBE-3NET network assigned to the
Illinois State Board of Education.  A day or two later, the machine
still seems to be up, running some variety of Windows, with only port
139 open.

In December 1997 the Supreme Court of the United
States upheld a lower court decision claiming that the
Congress of the United States of America has authority
to sanction assassinations of citizens of the U.S. as
well as alien enemies secretly designated by the
President of the United States.  Murders the Federal
Courts had decided to concentrate upon were reportedly
"sanctioned" by publishers and broadcasters who then
began in 1998 publishing tales such as "The Gold of
Exodus" which the Library of Congress has defined as
history: DS63.1B59  1998   or  956.05-DC21  for
instance in the shelves of public and school
libraries.
Americans have now officially AUTHORIZED, through
Congress, the deliberate mass murders of innocents,
including infants, expected to be in the vicinity of
intended targets of assassination.  And they have
AUTHORIZED ("Thrill of the Kill" Aug. 1998 soldier of
fortune) murder of prisoners in police custody.
On behalf of each and every citizen of the United
States of America the heritage of limited government
has been trashed in favor of secret executions by
Members of Congress.  Every Member refuses to answer
for the murders or falsely claims ignorance of
Congressional involvement in assassinations.  Members
of the 106th Congress believe they have better
protection from retaliation than their constituents'
children.  The news media as well as Congress are
probably suppressing this information because
publishers and broadcasters, not Congress, had
sanctioned the assassinations Federal agents executed
before 1998.  And, before the Camelot Regime, Federal
assassins had known their assignments were simply
murder conspiracies with officials violating terms of
office.  You may begin research in case 97-667 Supreme
Court of the U.S.
Since 1960 the news and entertainment media has
effectively taught assassination is a function of the
U.S. government.  Most citizens are now actually proud
of their assassins' mythic accomplishments.  And no
Member of Congress has the integrity to lead in a
limited government.
When terrorists respond in kind to the murders of
their children and neighbors, do not ask "why me?"

P.S. I recommend legislation that:
Whereas generally published histories teach the
United States of America have assassinated as
matter of policy, it is lawfully established anyone
believed to have entered an assassination plan as
or with any putative agent of the U.S., or to have
pardoned principals in Federal assassination, shall
be indicted for high crime of sedition and the
indictment, as well as being expeditiously
prosecuted by a U.S. Attorney, be brought
to attention of domestic and alien
jurisdictions in which there are apparently
collateral crimes.
