Irony and sarcasm deflate seriousness, and when your seriousness becomes detum-
escent, you're not held responsible for your thoughts. Irony beats thinking like
rock beats scissors. -- http://www.hyperorg.com/backissues/joho-june2-98.html

Subject: Zyvex update

Hello again.

This mailing is to inform you of some interesting new content on the Zyvex
web site, http://www.zyvex.com. You are getting this email because you
subscribed to the Zyvex "inform" mailing list; see
http://www.zyvex.com/MailList.html if you changed your mind and want to be
removed.

Since our recent move, we've mainly been busy reassembling the lab in our
spacious (11660 square feet) new quarters. We made enough time to do some
nanomanipulation of nanotubes inside our SEM, and have posted some early
results on our web page, as well as on Washington University's web site
(our collaborators in this nanotube work). This includes the first-ever (so
far as we know) movies of real-time 3D nanotube manipulation to measure the
mechanical and electrical properties of nanotubes.

Our web site also has some simulation results exploring reaction chemistry
for mechanosynthesis, and some pictures of mechanical parts decomposed into
atoms by our CAD software.

We've gotten a few new pictures of other things as well, like much better
images of silicon surfaces.

There's a big change coming to our site over the next few months, with new
content, and a new look. Watch for the next mailing.

With the new large movie and program downloads, and more users (things were
hectic after our recent mention in Wired.com), we are often saturating the
bandwidth of our current network link. We're looking into web hosting
services with better (say, 45 Mbps) communications links, and are
interested in hearing of your experience with such services. In the
meantime, please bear with us during those slow downloads of large images
and movies.

Regards,
